MANILA, Philippines — Filinvest Land Inc., the listed property developer of the Gotianun family, said it is now more prepared and capable of sustaining business growth after a challenging environment in the last 21 months.
“In Filinvest, our ability to work together made us more resilient and our employee’s sense of family made the challenging days feel easier,” FLI chief strategy officer Tristan Las Marias said during the Asia CEO Real Estate Forum held recently.
Las Marias said the pandemic was the biggest crisis FLI has come across in the 66 years it has been in business.
However, with combination of diversification strategies and financial prudence, FLI managed to thrive in a very challenging situation, Las Marias said.
During the same forum, Chroma Hospitality country manager James Montenegro said his team had to recalibrate, recover and rebuild.
Chroma operates the Filinvest Group’s hotel brands – Crimson Hotels and Resorts + Quest Hotels.
Montenegro said the group had to look after their people, while making sure business stayed afloat.
“They kept innovating ahead of the expected changes in travel behavior. To rebuild, they had to quickly strategize and push out digital campaigns that were relatable to a market that was on lockdown,” he said.
“We saw the challenges we went through as opportunities to push ourselves further and learn more about our guests, their needs, and the best ways we can keep them safe. It was during these hard times that we truly got to live out our company slogan – Driven Hospitality, which we achieved by working and rising together,” Montenegro said.
Filinvest REIT Corp. president and CEO Maricel Brion-Lirio, for her part, talked about how FILRT had adopted a more human-centric approach in addressing the ill effects of the pandemic, as well as the importance of gaining locator confidence, among many others.
“To continue the steady pace of recovery, especially in the real estate industry, it is important to gain back the confidence of global locators,” she said.
Filinvest Group officials cited the importance of pursuing sustainable green and digital initiatives to ensure the business longevity of all stakeholders.
